Policy Research Analyst

Public Private Strategies (PPS) creates opportunities where the public and private sectors meet. We bring together diverse allies including foundations, associations, corporations, small businesses, and entrepreneurs to solve pressing societal challenges. By harnessing the power of the private sector, we build coalitions, activate campaigns, and create strategic partnerships to drive desired policy and market outcomes.

Position Overview

As a Policy Research Analyst, you will play a central role in translating provisions from four major pieces of economic policymaking: the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, The Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPs) and Science Act, and the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) provisions of the American Rescue Plan into practical opportunities for small businesses and community organizations across the nation and in specific markets. Your exceptional ability to analyze complex legislation and identify actionable opportunities will be the cornerstone of an exciting strategic initiative. Your work will help ensure that funds flow into communities and organizations that can maximize the value of investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • In-Depth Legislative Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of the four major economic policy pieces, deciphering their provisions, and identifying critical opportunities for our organization to engage.

  • Collaborative Strategy: Work closely with our client and partners to develop collaborative strategies that align with the goals of the legislation and communities.  Your insights will drive decisions on where to invest resources to yield the most significant community impact.
  • Thought Leadership: Monitor policy developments, funds flows, implementation barriers, and other relevant news. You will be our go-to expert, providing valuable insights and analysis to our leadership and external partners.
  • Impact Measurement: Collaborate with our client and partners to establish practical and effective metrics to track progress against opportunities to ensure progress and real-time course correction.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with our client, their stakeholders and our partners, including policymakers, government agencies, nonprofits and corporations.

Qualifications:
